The Journey That Led Us Here

From Childhood Inspiration to a Lifelong Mission

Rescue has always been a part of my life. As the oldest of eight children, I grew up helping my parents run their dog rescue, watching firsthand the dedication, hard work, and love it took to save lives. While it was challenging, their success and passion inspired me. I eventually took a break from rescue work to serve in the Navy, but after my contract ended, I found myself with time on my hands while my husband was still active duty. That’s when I decided to start my own rescue in Virginia. Once his contract was over, we moved to California to be closer to family, and now were thrilled to continue our rescue work alongside my parents, operating as sister rescues.

What Sets Us Apart

At K9 Oasis Rescue, we take a personalized approach to rescue. Unlike traditional shelters, we focus on providing each dog with the time and care they need to truly heal, both physically and emotionally. What sets our rescue apart is that every dog we take in becomes part of our family. They live in our home, so we can truly understand their personalities, needs, and quirks. Some have been abandoned or neglected, while others simply need a new start, but no matter their past, we focus on their future.  Our hands-on approach ensures that each dog receives individualized attention, and we take pride in working closely with them to build trust, address any behavioral needs, and help them adjust to life outside of a shelter. We don’t just aim to find a home; we aim to find the right home where they’ll thrive.

Rescue is in Our Blood

Rescue is not just something we do; it is a part of who we are. Growing up, I watched my parents dedicate their lives to saving dogs, and from an early age, I was right there beside them, learning what it truly means to give an animal a second chance. Their passion became my own, and after taking a break to serve in the Navy, I found myself drawn back to the work that had always been a part of my life.

Now, my husband and I continue this mission, running our own rescue while working alongside my parents as sister rescues. Every dog we take in is treated like family, receiving the love, care, and patience they need before finding a forever home. Whether they have been abandoned, surrendered, or simply need a fresh start, we are here to help.

Rescue is not just a job, it is a calling. It is hard work, late nights, and tough decisions, but it is also the joy of seeing a dog trust again, the excitement of a perfect adoption, and the fulfillment of knowing we made a difference. This is what we were meant to do, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
